Abraham wore a large astrological tablet on his breast. Each morning, the kings of the East and West would gather before him to seek his advice” (Tosefta Kiddushin 5:17). Astrology has been an integral part of Judaism for over 4000 years. The Book of Formation, the oldest and most influential Kabbalistic text, which some scholars attribute to Abraham, describes
the twelve zodiac signs and their connections to the Hebrew letters. In this talk, we will explore the portrayal of Abraham as a master astrologer and advisor to kings and diplomats. We will discuss the Jewish roots of astrology and how the wisdom of Abraham and the stars can be used to understand the events and quirks of our own lives.
