The Astrology of April

Announcement:
I posted a new Webinar: Tarot: The Graphic Novel of Your Soul, Four Meetings Every Monday, 10am Los Angeles time, April 14 – May 5. The Tarot is more than a deck of cards—it’s a mirror to your soul, a map of your subconscious, and a tool to converse with the universe. But why were these cards excommunicated? Why is the Joker banned in so many card games? Why are Tarot decks filled with hidden symbols and sacred geometry? How is the Tarot linked to Kabbalah and astrology? Join us for an intensive 4-week workshop to demystify the Tarot and help you unlock its wisdom. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to deepen your practice, this journey will transform how you see the cards—and yourself. Register HERE

April Astrological Highlights
March indeed was a month of great upheaval—from mass demonstrations in Istanbul, Belgrade, Tel-Aviv, Georgia, and Gaza to the breaking of the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel. In the USA, the Atlantic exposed a security scandal where the head of the CIA, the Secretary of Defence, and the Vice President shared plans about a forthcoming attack on Yemen on the Signal messaging app. A classic case of Mercury retrograde (including a reporter on a top-secret chat group, lying about it, and being caught), and Venus, ruler of diplomacy, which is also retrograding in Aries, the sign of war and the leaders. Tariff wars, breaking away from allies and courting enemies (very Venus retrograde), South Sudanese and Somali civil wars, Twitter (X) suffers from multiple global system outages, and the list goes on. Many of these stories would take 6 months to unfold as they took place between the eclipses of March 13/14 and March 29.

April promises to be a bit more subtle, especially after April 14. On April 9, Mercury ends his retrograde motion in his sign of fall, Pisces, and on April 14, Venus, also in her sign of fall, goes direct. Passover is celebrated on April 12th’s Full Moon in Libra, and Easter on April 20. These holidays represent the energetic makeup of the first month of the Astrological year—a call to action, liberation, resurrection, and rebirth.

IMPORTANT DAYS IN APRIL

April 1 (Fool’s Day): Today is a celebration of the Green Man, Idris, Mother Nature’s son/lover. Plant a tree, go out to nature, and do something that connects you to your inner Druid. April 1st is the day of the Tarot card “The Fool,” or “The Joker” of the playing cards. Both cards represent absolute potential as well as a leap of faith into something new. Making this day even more magical is the continuing Mars and Saturn trine that started March 31.

April 1–5 (Mars and Saturn sextile Uranus): A wonderful time for innovation and practical scientific breakthroughs in medicine and technology. A great time for brainstorming and coming up with pragmatic original solutions to old issues. The warrior is under the guidance of the brilliant general.

April 5–7 (Mars and Venus trine): Due to Venus’ retrograde motion, she is back to forming a harmonious aspect with her secret lover, Mars. While she is exalted, he is fallen. While she is retrograding, he marches direct. They resemble Barbie and Ken, considering he’s a professional “simply beach” dude, and indeed Mars is in Cancer, a water sign. These are great days for romance, increasing your income from talents you are passionate about, and better relationships with significant others as well as brothers and sisters in arms.

April 5–10 (Venus conjunct Saturn): Saturn can be a sugar daddy who is upset with Venus running around with dashing Mars. This aspect can introduce you to someone older who can be helpful with finance and developing your talents. This conjunction can also sit heavy over your primary relationships. A time to reassess your close partnerships and how you make money.

April 6–7 (Mercury Stationary): We are at the tail end of the retrograde. I know you are impatient to engage with everything that was stuck, but please wait until after April 8.

April 8 (Mercury direct): All good to sign documents, make purchases, start new projects, etc. Let Mercury recover a bit as he is in Pisces, his sign of fall, until April 15. At that point, he returns to his former self while transporting in Aries.

April 14 (Tarot Workshop) Tarot: The Graphic Novel of Your Soul, Four Meetings Every Monday, 10am Los Angeles time, April 14 – May 5.

April 7–16 (Mercury trine Mars): This is a great aspect for business, writing, marketing, sales, and any form of communication. An opportune time for making important decisions based on facts while linking your words and thoughts with action. Take control over the helm.

April 12 (Sun conjunct Chiron): A day of teaching, mentoring, healing childhood deep-seated wounds, and connecting to your inner warrior.

April 13 (Full Moon in Libra): One of the most powerful lunations of the year marking the story of Exodus, Passover, and the Last Supper. This is the day of liberation, coming out of constriction and negativity and marching towards your Promised Land. It is a magical Full Moon where you might connect to your inner Moses, guardian angel, or higher self.

April 14 (Saturn conjunct North Node): Positive interactions with groups of powerful individuals or people who are older. You are downloading some gifts or connections from previous lives. Good for joining new groups and organizations that share your long-term goals.

April 16–18 (Mercury conjunct Neptune): The planet of reason, logic, and objective communication must share bandwidth with the planet of intuition, channeling, and imagination. A day when your reptilian and cortex brains come together. A good time for faith healing, creative visualization, using imagination in your business and professional life as well as receiving messages from the beyond.

April 16 (Mercury enters Aries until May 10): A quick-tempered messenger, Mercury can speed things up but also show signs of impatience. Words can easily be weaponized. A good time to speak your mind and assert your identity. You might experience aggression in your business and communication.

April 17–21 (Mars trine Neptune): Neptune is in trine with the ruler of the sign he is hosted by. This strengthens the connection between water and fire, reception and action, feminine and masculine. A great day to act according to your gut feeling or following omens, dreams, and vision quests. Activities in or around water are encouraged.

April 18 (Mars enters Leo until June 17): The knight in the service of the queen or king. Courtly love. Mars in Leo is called “Valor” and brings about a great deal of courage. Great for entertainment, sports, creativity, and reconnecting to your inner child.

April 19 (Sun enters Taurus until May 20): We are shifting gears into sensuous and luxurious Taurus, trading conquest for comfort, the yurt with a seven-star hotel. This month you are to indulge your six senses. It is a good month to tap into your artistic talents and perhaps discover new ones. Pay extra attention to your values and self-worth. This transit helps you connect with the Hierophant (one of the Tarot cards of the year) and ground sacredness.

April 20 (Easter): A day where you are coming out of the cave (womb) and reconnecting to the spark of God in you. A woman might be able to help you connect to your divine aspect just as Maria Magdalena was the first to see Jesus’ resurrection.

April 22 (Earth Day): Always celebrated on the second or third day of Taurus, being the sign of Mother Nature. Spend time outdoors or gardening.

April 22–24 (Sun square the rulers of Scorpio – Mars and Pluto): This can bring about a great deal of letting go, death, and intense sexuality. Watch your steps these days, things can turn ugly or violent.

April 25–28 (Mars squares Pluto): The winds of war are in the air. The nasty aspect from April 22 continues, therefore, please be mindful not to add to the challenges and conflicts in the world and around you. Humanity seems to need a good dose of anger management therapy. Manipulations can turn aggressive.

April 27 (New Moon in Taurus): The exalted New Moon in Taurus is a giver of gifts. A great time to start a new artistic or financial project. Spend time in nature, connect to your senses, and do something that can symbolize rooting yourself. You are connecting to the Tree of Life today, a wonderful new beginning.

April 30 (Venus enters Aries until June 6): Venus doesn’t like being under the sweaty and military Aries regiment. There could be a bit more conflict and aggression in your primary relationships. In her sign of exile, Venus might be somewhat snappy and can cause hasty decisions and actions with finances and love.

April 30 (Pluto squares Lilith): Darkness, manipulation, strife, and challenges. Take extra heed. You might be demonized and misunderstood.
