Astro Highlights for February – Mounting the Fire Horse

February is a month to reckon with. One of the most astrologically transformative of 2026, actually, retrack that, one of the most powerful months in a decade?
We have Saturn moving into Aries for the first time in 30 years, taking place right on Valentine’s Day, which is also the day Saturn takes Neptune (moved into Aries end of Jan) on a cosmic date, a conjunction in the first degree of Aries for the first time since Hammurabi laid his code of laws – an eye for an eye etc, which later Moses borrowed for the Torah. Three days later, on February 17, the solar eclipse falls smack on the Chinese New Year of the Fire Horse. Let me break that down. Last time the eclipse fell on the onset of the Lunar Year was 19 years ago, and the last time we were asked to mount a fire horse was 1966. Suffice to say, this planetary bonanza is shaking our lives as well as the world. For this reason, I will be hosting a webinar on the solar eclipse: Feb 17 at 6:30 pm Los Angeles time (recording available), which will include a meditation and an explanation of the astrology behind this auspicious time. In addition, here is a link to a podcast episode (Garden & the Moon) I was a guest on, where I cover some of these events: https://open.spotify.com/episode/3UrbcTZm57VpHXoNReQPnc?si=f59a8fb3d4984f21
And now for the important dates in February, the month whose name derives from februa, referring to Roman purification festivals and rituals held during this month.
February 1 (Full Moon in Leo): A lunation that brings creative and romantic endeavors into the spotlight. Express your inner royalty and share your talents with friends or with your company. Our celestial mom and dad are pushing and pulling in different directions; therefore, find your center and avoid extremes. There could be a conflict between your romantic partner or kids with your friends or company. Tu B’Shvat – the fruit trees’ new year. Plant a fruit-bearing tree!
February 3 – 4 (Uranus stationary): The joker was retrograding for a few months, creating chaos, awakening latent talents, and disrupting some of our plans. But before he goes direct, these two days can be extra tough with friends, colleagues, or government officials.
February 5 (Uranus Direct): The planet of innovation moves forward, accelerating progress in areas previously stalled. Embrace originality and independence. This is the last forward motion of Uranus in Taurus before he permanently moves into Gemini on April 25. A good time to awaken new sources of income, revolutionize your money making, and befriend artistic people. There could be movement in the cryptocurrency sphere, perchance a new application to blockchains.
February 5 (Mercury square Uranus): Mercury and Uranus, his higher octave, are at odds. Sudden insights or unexpected news challenge best made plans. Stay adaptable and open-minded to new solutions. Your words can be disturbing so pay attention to all forms of communication.
February 7 – April 15 (Mercury in Pisces): Due to the Mercury retro (February 25 – March 22) the messenger of the gods and goddesses will be sinking down his sign of fall, weaker than his normal agile self. Communication becomes intuitive and poetic, enhancing creativity and spiritual insights. Ideal for dreams, meditation, and artistic expression but not the best for logical and practical decision making.
February 8 (Venus square Uranus): Expect surprises in relationships and financial matters. Stay alert and avoid impulsive decisions or expenditures.
February 10 (Mercury square Lilith): Intense conversations reveal hidden tensions or desires. Be cautious how you express strong emotions or controversial ideas. There is magic in the air and a great deal of sexual tension, make sure you direct it the right way. Be careful of jealousy and negativity. Avoid gossip, badmouthing and slander.
February 10–March 6 (Venus enters Pisces): Venus dives into her sign of exaltation which is great news. Let the goddess of love into your heart and spirit. Romance, creativity, and spirituality flourish under Venus’s compassionate and imaginative influence. Embrace romantic love and artistic inspiration. Great for art, design, and meeting potential partners in life and work.
February 12 (Mercury conjunction North Node): You are being shown what your intellectual as well as professional karmic lessons are in this lifetime. A great time to start learning a language or a new skill. Significant communications or insights align with your life path. Be attentive to messages and synchronicities guiding your direction.
February 14 (Saturn enters Aries): Right on Valentine’s Saturn moves from Pisces where he entered in 2023, into Aries, his sign of fall. A new cycle begins, emphasizing personal responsibility, identity, courage, and pioneering initiatives until April 2028. Prepare for significant growth and tests of personal strength.
February 14 – 20 (Saturn conjunction Neptune): One of the most significant aspects of the decade. The planet of focus, practicality, ambition and success is walking hand in hand with the planet representing intuition, mystical pursuit and imagination – reality meets visionary dreams. Significant moment for grounding your ideals and manifesting your aspirations. A new world order forming.
February 15 (Venus square Lilith): Relationships face deep emotional challenges or confrontations. Three-sided relationships can triangulate your love life, and exes or past intimate partners might show up uninvited, creating havoc in your life. There could be someone sabotaging your work, finances, and relationships.
February 16 (Sun square Uranus): Unexpected disruptions require adaptability. Use innovative strategies to navigate sudden changes. The joker laughs at you so best is to laugh and not take it personally.
February 16 (Mercury trine Jupiter): This aspect helps counter the square of the Sun and Uranus. Expansive ideas and optimistic conversations. Great day for learning, teaching, and sharing your knowledge.
February 17 (New Moon in Aquarius & Solar Eclipse): Happy New Chinese Year of the Fire Horse! Always falling on the New Moon in Aquarius, the Chinese New Year is a powerful new beginning relating to community projects, humanitarian efforts, technology, and future visions. The Sabian symbol of this New Year: A Butterfly emerging from a chrysalis, which is indeed a good sign of a year of galloping fiery transformation. Set intentions aligned with collective well-being and innovation. On this New Moon, east and west meet. Not only it is the Chinese New Year but also the 9th month of the Muslim calendar, marking the beginning of Ramadan.
February 17 – 18 (Venus conjunction Node): Relationships and creative ventures align with your destiny. Pay attention to meaningful connections forming today. You might meet people who could be helpful in aligning you with your soul’s mission in this life. Try a new artistic adventure, it might come effortlessly and translate to a new source of income in the future.
February 18–March 20 (Sun enters Pisces): In the next 30 days we are all Pisces. The focus shifts toward empathy, imagination, and spiritual pursuits. Ideal for meditation, dream work, poetry, meeting people and places you know from past lives. Spend time in water or around water sources.
February 22 (Venus trine Jupiter): Generous and abundant energy for love, creativity, and financial success. Enjoy celebrations and embrace positive opportunities.
February 26 (Sun square Lilith): Inner conflicts surface, revealing hidden emotions or power struggles. Maintain clarity and integrity in your actions. Self-destructive tendencies abound, so be aware of how you sabotage yourself.
February 25 – 26 (Mercury Stationary): Mercury is stuck before he goes retrograde for three weeks. A great time to focus your mind and meditate. Not a good time to start anything new.
February 27 – March 19 (Mercury Retrograde in Pisces): Reflect, review, and revise communications and creative projects. Avoid signing important contracts and use this period for introspection until March 22 (March 20 and 21 Mercury stationary). Since Mercury is fallen in Pisces, this retrograde can be harder, take heed.
February 27 (Mars square Uranus): Sudden bursts of energy can lead to innovation and breakthroughs or conflict. Exercise caution and channel impulses constructively. Accidents, injuries, unexpected strife and aggression.
February 27 – 28 (Sun conjunction Node): Significant realizations or events align you with your true path. Embrace clarity and purposeful direction. Good communications with bosses and figures of authority.
February 28 (Mercury conjunction Venus): Harmonious communication enhances relationships and creative projects. A perfect day for heartfelt conversations and artistic collaborations.
