Ides of March – The Astrology of March

Greetings from Miami, my last stop before I finally return home to the City of Angels after two and a half months traveling all over Europe and the Middle East. If you happen to be in Miami or know anyone here, I am offering a past lifetime regression and the astrology of 2025 workshops.
On the New Moon in Pisces, I will do a longer version of the Power of Your Name workshop (Feb 27 at 11 am PST, 7 pm UK). You can bring the names you want to explore, and a recording will be available. To register: https://www.alternatives.org.uk/event/power-your-name-unfold-your-destiny-and-activate-your-potential
In my book on the Astrology of 2025, I mentioned that March will be one of the more difficult periods of this shedding shadows year. While it is true that Mars will finally go direct after Feb 25, a few days later, March 1, Venus goes retro, and right on the Total Lunar eclipse, Mercury starts his retrograde motion, which means both Venus (money, relationships, values) and Mercury (communication, business, documents) will be retrograding simultaneously smack in the middle of eclipse season (March 14 – 29).
Retrograde is not an energetic black hole. You can still start new projects as long as you have tried to bring them into light in the past and failed to bring into completion. However, avoid starting new partnerships, getting married or divorced, or making big purchases, between March 9 and April 14.
And yet, every curse is also a blessing, therefore, March is good for reevaluating your values, partnerships, financial investments, business associates, marketing campaigns, relationships with relatives and neighbors, and your artistic projects. It is a great month to reconnect to old hobbies and talents but not to explore new ones.
And now for the important dates of March:
March 1–2 (Venus Stationary in Aries): Not only is Venus in her sign of exile, but now she is asked to walk backward in burning coals wearing her high heels. She is quick to anger, so make an effort to avoid conflicts or arguments with partners or lovers.
March 2–3 (Sun square Jupiter): Everything and everyone feels bigger than life. There is a danger of feeling overoptimistic as well as facing too many false opportunities. Make sure not to fall prey to deceptions and illusions.
March 3 (Venus retrogrades until April 14): Avoid getting married, starting new relationships, getting engaged, starting lawsuits, and signing partnership agreements. Exes or lovers from previous lives or this life might return. Be extra mindful with finances, as people tend to lose money or make bad investments. It’s a good time to have money owed to you paid back as well as refinancing loans or mortgages.
March 3 (Mercury enters Aries until March 30): Mercury can be a bit impatient when in Aries and favors practical, short, and concise communication.
March 7–8 (Sun trine Mars): A great aspect for energy, determination, vitality, and leadership. It is a wonderful period for breakthroughs, taking control over life, and getting things done. Activities by and around water are recommended. Passion is in the air.
March 11–13 (Sun conjunct Saturn while Mercury conjunct Venus): Seriousness, focus, discipline, and planning can bring tactical or strategic accomplishments. It’s a good time to connect with people of authority and improve relations with superiors. Additionally, it’s a good time to fix communication issues with partners in work or life.
March 14 (Pi Day and Lunar Eclipse in Virgo): Today symbolizes the intriguing blend of the infinite nature of Pi and its practical application in computing a circle’s finite dimensions. It highlights the interplay between boundlessness and boundaries in the fabric of existence. How auspicious that today is also the Full Moon in the mathematically inclined Virgo. It’s a great time to bring a project to an end and focus on diet, service, and combining your analytical and holistic aspects in life.
March 14–15 (Mercury Stationary): Here we go again, Mercury is standing still. It’s a great time for reflection and meditation. Anything you need fixated and locked in, you can do today.
March 16–April 8 (Mercury Retrograde): You know the drill, avoid signing documents or starting new projects unless you have tried before and failed to complete. Be aware that the worst time of the retro (March 30–April 8) occurs when Mercury retrogrades into his sign of fall, Pisces. This could bring about melancholy, confusion, and disorientation. However, dreams and intuition are enhanced.
March 17 (Sun conjunct North Node): A powerful day for accessing skills and knowledge from past lifetimes. There could be an encounter with powerful and successful individuals or groups that can further your goals.
March 19–20 (Sun conjunct Neptune): Increased imagination, intuition, and channeling of information from above. You might feel a bit tired. A great deal of omens, synchronicities, and spiritual awakening.
March 20 (Equinox and the Sun in Aries until April 19): Happy New Year! The Astrological New Year is upon us. The most celebrated and holiest day in the Zodiac wheel, the March equinox incites us to spring into action despite the retrogrades. For the next 30 days, we are all Moses, Christ, Muhammad, and Da Vinci. It’s a time to focus on your body, health, leadership, brand, and image. You are getting liberated from the slumber of Pisces, ready to heed the call of action.
March 22–23 (Sun conjunct Venus): A day of creativity, love, and balance. The collective unconscious is wide open for you to tap into your artistic side. A possible encounter with someone special, a significant other, or a lover. Today you look amazing!
March 24 (Sun conjunct Mercury): Another brilliant aspect of intellectual prowess. Messages from above and around are coming your way and can inspire you regardless of the Mercury retrograde.
March 26 (Mars square Chiron): The disobedient soldier. Watch out for injuries, accidents, and misuse of force.
March 26–28 (Venus conjunct Neptune): With Venus and Mercury retrograding, this conjunction brings you in contact with people, skills, gifts, and artistic abilities from previous lives. Let your imagination flow and you will experience a great deal of revelations in the next few days.
March 27 (Lilith enters Scorpio until December 20): Emotional intensity, powerful desires, fascination with the forbidden, shadow work, possessiveness, and jealousy. This unfortunate transit can bring about power struggles, manipulation, abuse, distrust, and criminality. Truly, the dark side of the Force. Stay clear of any form of gossip. It’s a good time to place a heap of salt in the four corners of your bedroom for protection against negativity.
March 29–31 (Mercury conjunct Neptune): An interesting aspect that combines logic and intuition, reason and fantasy. A great book to read is the Tao of Physics by Capra, which combines modern physics with Daoism.
March 29 (Solar Eclipse in Aries): Eclipse season is upon us and events in the next two weeks are quickening and intensifying. Be mindful of unnecessary aggression and impulsiveness. Events and stories woven in the next two weeks can take six months to unfold.
March 30 (Mercury in Pisces until April 15): Mercury retrogrades into his sign of fall; communication can be extra hard as the messenger is not only retrograding but drowning in subjectivity. Talk and write from your heart rather than mind. Great for intuition and applying your imagination to overcome challenges.
March 30 (Neptune enters Aries until October 22): Perhaps the most important transit of the year. Confusion can lead to war, so be extra careful of fanaticism or aggression triggered by propaganda of misinformation. Watch your immune system, inflammation, and your head.
March 31–April 4 (Mars trine Saturn): A great aspect to close the month of Mars with the soldier under the tutelage of the general. Think of a Jedi in training. It’s a great day for success and recognition.
